Four fast fixes to make you look and feel less tired

When you’re tired you don’t just feel groggy you can look far from bright and breezy too. But with a few simple beauty and wellness tricks you can look and feel far more rested in practically no time at all.

We know a good night’s sleep is key to keeping dark circles and a puffy complexion at bay, but when you’re juggling a hectic work schedule, family time and everything else, getting plenty of quality rest isn’t always easy.

So while we can’t stress enough the importance of resetting your circadian rhythm and focusing on a regular nighttime routine to optimise your sleep, here are some tips for reducing and disguising the signs of fatigue when it strikes.

Facial massage

A full body massage would quickly help you relax and maybe even drift off but when your skin is puffy and looking lackluster then it’s time to focus on your face instead. Facial massage helps get the blood flowing and reduces inflammation and if you gently massage around the eyes you can reduce the fluid which can pool under them too. It only takes a few minutes but can make a huge difference almost instantly to your skin.

Drink more water

Fake it

Those undereye bags aren’t always going to disappear as fast as you’d like them too so sometimes you have to reach for the makeup bag.

Makeup artist Candice Meghan tells Lumity that combatting dark circles starts with a great concealer.

“First use one in a pink tone as this will reduce the dark green/purple colour of dark circles, then apply your usual concealer on top,” she says. “Apply it sparingly to the under eye area in a tapping motion with your ring finger and then buff it out with a fluffy eyeshadow brush. Set this with your usual powder.”

She also suggests curling your lashes to look more alert and using white eye-liner to brighten up tired eyes too.
