4 ways to get glowing skin from the inside out

Healthy, glowing skin doesn’t just come from what you put on your body, it comes from what you put in it and how you treat it too.
Wellbeing and beauty are powerfully connected. When you feel healthy you look healthy, and when you look your best, your confidence levels rise too.
So here are four ways you can boost your beauty-body connection from the inside out.
Diet and supplements
If you were to draw up one list for what you should eat for a healthy body and what you should eat for great skin, they would look very similar.
For example processed, fatty foods and refined sugar makes us feel sluggish, gain weight and can cause skin to breakout or become dry, flaky and dull looking.
On the other hand, indulge in healthy fruits and vegetables like antioxidant and lycoene rich tomatoes and your skin will benefit from a boost in collagen levels, and your body will get one of it’s essential five-a-day.
Add omega 3 fatty acids from the likes of salmon and tuna to your diet for soft, moisturised skin and know that the protein in the fish will protect bone health and prevent loss of muscle too.
Take Lumity Morning & Night supplements alongside a healthy balanced diet to add essential minerals and vitamins for great hair, nails, skin, energy levels, immunity and overall improved wellbeing.
Look after your gut
Your brain and your gut are connected and your gut and your skin are too.
An unhealthy stomach – full of bad bacteria – can have a negative impact on your mood and a clear gut, means clear skin.
In addition to drinking plenty of water, at least eight, 8oz glasses a day to hydrate and flush out fat and toxins, you can benefit your gut in several ways.
Add healthy bacteria to your gut in the form of yoghurt or kefir and fermented foods, such as sauerkraut and kimchi too. Fibre feeds healthy bacteria too so introduce a little more wholegrains, fruits, veggies and pulses to your diet.
Reduce your sugar intake because too much refined sweet stuff can increase inflammation and cut down on stress if you can. Meditation and exercise can help you to do this.
Work up a sweat
When you exercise you increase blood circulation and your skin gets a boost from all the extra nutrients that’s brought to your skin.
At the same time your entire body benefits from activity, from your head to your heart to your toes.
You don’t have to enroll in a strenuous exercise class to reap the rewards either. Even just getting out and going for a brisk walk for 30 minutes each day can improve your health and in turn your skin.
Find an activity you enjoy and make it a habit to squeeze in movement every single day. You’ll soon see and feel the difference.
Let your body repair
Sleep is essential all round and there’s no getting past that. Your body and your skin need time to repair and recuperate. When you don’t get enough shut eye neither has time to get their job done properly which is why you wake up looking and feeling weary. This happens to us all from time to time but if you’re finding it’s a regular occurrence you’ll ultimately pay the price.
If you’re struggling to sleep there are several ways you can improve your ability to fall asleep and stay asleep too. Regulating your circadian clock – also known as your body clock – makes a a huge difference to the way you look and feel.
Your body is primed to be awake when it’s light and sleep when it’s dark, but jet lag, stress, bad eating habits and many other factors can mean your body clock is completely disrupted.
Lumity Morning & Night Supplements are formulated to work with your circadian rhythm providing what you need, when you need it.
You can also ensure you’re turning off electronic devices in plenty of time before bed so that the blue light they emit doesn’t hinder your sleep – or affect your skin.
Setting a time to get up and sticking to it and keeping a regular bedtime will, in time, put you on the right track as well.
