5 ways to get that summer glow

Summer is here, which means the drinks get cooler, hair gets lighter and the music gets louder… but nothing beats rocking a beautiful glow to go with all those fabulous summer clothes. A good skincare routine and make-up products can enhance that outer glow, but feeding your skin from the inside out is what will truly make you feel as good as you look.

Five ways to get that summer glow

Load up on leafy greens

Leafy greens are packed with antioxidants and vitamins A, C, E and K, which all help to mitigate against the visible signs if premature ageing, giving your skin a clear, lovely glow. Leafy greens are also rich in chlorophyll, which helps cleanse and purify your blood and optimise cellular health. To ensure you are getting an abundance of leafy greens every day in your diet, put them in your morning smoothies, or simply make a habit of having a side dish of fresh green veg for dinner every evening.

Stock up on berries

Berries are packed with beautifying properties, and each type has different benefits. Strawberries are rich in vitamin C, which helps fight free radicals and boosts that inner glow; blueberries are rich in vitamin A and C, which are both age-defying ingredients; blackberries contain a wealth of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which make them brilliant at fighting inflammation; raspberries are a great source of vitamin C, which is both collagen-boosting and age-fighting; and acai berries are anti-ageing and help to promote healthy glowing skin.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is a multi-purpose beauty product and is beneficial both inside and out. Applying to your face leaves your skin radiant, silky and smooth, and it’s fantastic when used as a luminous natural primer before makeup. It’s the ultimate beauty essential and it’s amazing benefits include hair care, stress relief, cholesterol level maintenance, weight loss, boosted immune system, proper digestion and regulated metabolism. It also provides relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer, while helping to improve dental quality and bone strength. You can even use it for shaving your legs!

Adding a high quality supplement like Lumity into your health and skincare regime goes hand in hand with a healthy diet. Doctors recommend that you can get all the basic nutrients you need from your diet alone, but, in moderation, an all-round wellness supplement could help to give your diet that extra nutrient boost. Just be sure to check with a doctor before you take any supplements to make sure what you’re taking is what your body needs.

Keeping hydrated is important all year round, but especially in warmer weather. Make sure to get 8-9 glasses of water a day as well as eating lots of water-packed foods, like watermelon and cucumber, for extra beautifying skin benefits. Watermelon is so refreshing and light that you can eat a whole watermelon without giving yourself a huge sugar rush.

Watermelon contains both magnesium and potassium which are also great if you have had one too many cocktails the night before. Cucumbers are ultra-hydrating and are a great source of vitamin C for skin health.
