Ageing is the process of change in a person over the years and we all know it is inevitable. It’s actually a wonderful experience for most people, especially if their younger years were fraught with insecurity and anxiety, getting older is a time to relax and enjoy life.

But while ageing of your skin and inside your body comes down to many factors, these three – vitamin deficiency, free radical damage and toxicity in the body – are easily minimised with some relatively easy diet and lifestyle tweaks. You can do this at any age and it’s never too late to change.

Oxidative stress causes ageing such as; premature hair loss, greying or brittle hair, nails, wrinkles and poor skin elasticity, as well as osteoporosis and arthritis.

However, a healthy, balanced diet rich in antioxidants (such as vitamins A, C and E) is essential and will help protect your cells from the oxidation process. If you want to maintain a feeling of youth and vitality and have skin that glows with radiance, be sure to include:

High quality nourishment, such as whole grains
Lots of green vegetables
Orange and yellow veggies
Lots of dark berries
Lean protein
Healthy fats and hydrating liquids, such as fresh veggies juices, mineral water and green tea

Probiotics – like kefir or kombucha.

It’s worth minimising your intake of refined sugars, processed foods, dairy and soda, as these are inflammatory and may cause premature ageing.

Carrot, apple and ginger smoothie for clear skin 

This juice helps skin glow from the inside out by cleansing, detoxifying and nourishing your internal organs. 3 Large Carrots

1/2 Cucumber
1 Apple
1/2 Avocado
