-Apr 9, Jenny Paul, Beauty -
Helena Christensen is so much more than just another Supermodel. The iconic Copenhagen, Denmark-born star is an accomplished photographer whose work has appeared in fashion bibles NYLON, Marie Claire and Elle, and she has campaigned tirelessly to raise money for breast cancer research and other charities, as well as working with OXFAM to document climate change in Peru.
After thirty years of working with the beauty and fashion industry’s greats, we were dying to know what Helena Christensen has learned about life as well as her beauty secrets, so we sat down and asked what secrets she has to share with other women…
What are your tips for women when it comes to confidence?
Helena tells Lumity Life Magazine: “I believe that superficial beauty won’t do much for your self-confidence. On the contrary, some of the most insecure people I’ve ever met are regarded as physically beautiful.
“I believe that confidence comes from knowledge, wit and charm.”
Helena Christensen: ‘Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder’
“At the end of the day, if you possess one or all of these, you’re smart enough to know that it’s not about exterior beauty, it’s about being healthy and just plain taking care of yourself.
“Exuding happiness brings you a long way up the confidence ladder. This doesn’t mean that getting a manicure or a new colour and cut won’t make you feel really good and pretty. But it’s more about doing this for yourself and not because you want some sort of approval from others.”
What is your philosophy when it comes to beauty?
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” Helena insists. “When you take care of yourself and feel good about yourself, you radiate it on the outside. Lumity supports your overall beauty routine – It makes everything your currently doing work more effectively.”
What are a few more of your beauty secrets?
“Make friends with the make-up artist as soon as you can!” Helena laughs.
“Hydration and sleep are my two most important beauty secrets that aren’t really secrets. I can really feel the difference when I go to bed early and sleep soundly, Lumity helps me sleep much deeper and wake up rested with more energy. And of course, water, lots of it – although this can be a slip-up of mine. Often, I just don’t feel thirsty.”
Helena Christensen: ‘I believe outer beauty reflects inner health’
“I’ve been a long-time believer that the concept that outer beauty reflects inner health,” Helena explains. “Lumity has been an easy, natural way for me to nourish my skin and restore my vitality from the inside out.
“With my travel schedule, getting plenty of sleep and making healthy choices can be a challenge. With Lumity it’s easier to sustain a healthy lifestyle wherever I am.
“I’ve really noticed an improvement in the quality of my sleep since starting Lumity. I wake up feeling well rested so my energy is up and my skin is glowing.”
How do you incorporate Lumity into your daily routine?
Helena says: “I take the three capsules when I’m getting ready in the morning and three capsules at night. It’s easy. They’re small gel capsules, so they’re very easy to swallow. It’s been an easy addition to my routine.”
Helena Christensen: ‘I love that Lumity is a low-commitment health & beauty secret’
“I share the brand’s philosophy that the body knows best and really relate to the idea that if you nourish your body on the inside, it shows on the outside,” the icon reveals.
“I love that Lumity is a low-commitment health & beauty secret that meets women where they are in their lives. It doesn’t require a lifestyle overhaul but instead gives the extra energy support we need to do all the things we set out to do each day.”
