Create a base

First and foremost you need a solid base for your look and this means a healthy skincare regime to prep your skin.

Lumity’s 4-in-1 Cleanse – which cleanses, removes makeup, exfoliates and acts as a facial mask – is a fantastic start to your routine. Follow this up with Lumity’s Skin Nutrients Facial Oil and your skin will be raring to go.

Next up, Victoria suggests a simple pinky cheeked look to stay on trend with autumn/winter makeup.

This means:

1. A colour-correcting (CC cream) or beauty balm (BB cream) rather than a heavy foundation

2  Under-eye concealer to disguise dark circles and lift shadowed areas.

3. A pale pink cream blush on the apples of your cheeks

4. An illuminating cream highlighter for the brow bone, cheekbones and the inner corners of the eyes

The next dilemma is whether to go for a bold lip, sparkly eye or both! Victoria tells Lumity that if you’re worried about overdoing it, opt for one or the other. You can still get a great, new look by following her guide.

How to get perfect red lips

“A great way to spice things up a little for the party season is with a classic red lip with the addition of a glitter finish,” Victoria explains. “Brands such as Kiko and Ciaté have got some great fun shades of lipsticks with a fine particle glitter finish which will make the lips look full as they reflect the light.”

Victoria adds: “The key to mastering this look is to keep everything else pared down.”

She suggests using a complexion makeup palette light Hourglass Ambient Lighting for a “lit from within” skin look.

“The three shades in this palette can create a warm all over glow, a soft contour and highlight too.

“Define your eyes and brows as you like them, but keep shadow & eyeliner lightweight as you want the emphasis on your lips.”

The best way to do glitter eyes

“If red lips are not for you, embrace the glitter trend with your eyeliner,” says Victoria.  “This year has seen strong trends for graphic liners, ranging from a simple flick to detailed socket liners in bright colours .

“For a fun way to reinvent your evening make-up apply your chosen liner shape then paint over with a liquid giltter liner such as illamasqua Precision Ink.

“Alternatively Urban Decay ‘Moondust’ Shadow Palette is a beautiful range of glitter shadows. You can use a lighter shade over the entire lid as they are nice and sheer, then use a fine brush to create a tight line with a brighter shade from the palette.

Tip: When applying the glitter wash over entire lid use you finger to apply as you can press the pigment into the skin which prevent excess drop down and let’s you control the amount of product more easily.

“Above all have fun with you winter make-up,” Victoria insists. “It’s a great opportunity to get some colour and sparkle into your look.”
