Joan Collins is still oozing fabulousness. Here’s how the incredible octogenarian maintains her youthful outlook on life and her famous good looks too.
Whatever Joan Collins is having for breakfast we’ll take it. Because she’s almost 86 and still grabbing life by the horns.
“I know women in their eighties who have just got so much vivacity and energy and charm,” she says. “And I know women in their forties who are dried-up old bags.”
Never one to mince her words ‘Dynasty’ star Joan has been a formidable force in the entertainment business for more than 60-years as well as earning a title as a ‘Dame’ for her services to charity.
She has her own brand of makeup, ‘Timeless Beauty’ which is fitting since she admits she never leaves the house without her face being made up.
That being said there’s little she insists she can do to manage her unruly hair.
“Honestly, for me every day is a bad hair day. That’s why I wear hats all the time. It is. And wigs. My real hair simply will not do what I want. Besides, darling, I like big hair!”
Joan has hit back at claims she’s had plastic surgery on her face and says happiness is her secret to maintaining her age-defying good looks.
“I was born with the happy gene and the energy gene. What makes me happiest is seeing my children happy,” she says.
“Honestly, life makes me happy and I’m very aware of how lucky I am. I’ve worked hard all my life, nobody has given me anything on a plate, but I wake up each morning thinking how fortunate I am.
Adding: “I’m very fit and healthy now – knock on wood – and I try to look after myself.”
Perhaps being married to a man three decades her junior also keeps her young. She’s been happily wed to her fifth husband Percy Gibson for 17-years and when asked how she looks so incredibly she reveals:
“Lots of laughter, exercise, hard work, never get too thin or too fat and a husband 32 years younger.”

And it’s clear that for Joan age really is just a number and just because she’s in her 80’s she will not go cold turkey on getting dolled up.
“One grows old, but one should never get old,” the actress explains. “Looking good and feeling great is the right of every woman, no matter how old she is. Beauty is timeless.”
