Nadia Narain has created a 10 minute yoga sequence that’s designed to calm your mind and body and prepare you for a lovely rejuvenating night’s sleep.

Nadia Narain is a British yoga teacher and author who has garnered a cult following from students including Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Lily Cole. She has also co-authored two best-selling wellbeing books with her sister Katia Narain-Philips which has seen the pair acclaimed as like, ‘Marie Kondo for the mind’.

The secret to true wellness starts with a great night’s sleep, especially because stress is the number one factor behind accelerated ageing and a multitude of chronic health problems including depression, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and Alzheimers.

With a mammoth 80% of British adults reporting that they experience stress regularly and a third saying that they feel stressed at least one full day each week – which equates to an average of nine days a month – it’s crucial to prioritise stress management now so you don’t end up with stress-related health problems in the future.

We’ve filmed a series of yoga sequences with Nadia, which are aimed at making you feel calm and happy in an ever increasingly crazy world.

This week we’re tackling stress, and Nadia has put together this calming routine, which she says is perfect to do in the evenings to calm you so you can have a good night’s sleep. All you need is a yoga mat and ten minutes of quiet so you can listen to her voice as she talks you through the moves.

It’s ideal to try to include it in your bedtime routine, or when you’re home after a particularly demanding day. Try to do it at least several times a week, but we’d recommend that you do it every evening during particularly stressful times.
