If you’ve ever stopped and marvelled at a women with fantastic skin, you’ve likely been tempted to ask ‘what’s your secret?’ Lumity have done the research for you and can reveal the habits these complexion savvy women swear by.

Whether it’s as simple as sunscreen or as quirky as a Korean caffeine eye mask these tips from women with great skin could give you a glow as good as theirs.

Apply an oil AFTER your makeup

Fashion editor and stylist Sulky Doll – real name Donna McCulloch – told Lumity she has a fantastic tip for getting her enviable glow.
She uses Lumity’s Skin Nutrients Facial Oil not only as a moisturiser but as a highlighter too.
“Once you’ve put your makeup on, put a drop of the oil on the flat of your hands and gently press against your cheekbones for a natural highlighter.”

Daily facial massage

A-list facialist Nichola Joss is the queen of great skin and she knows exactly what you need to get it. One thing she swears by is daily facial massages. She told Lumity: “It removes stress and tension in the muscle tissue and also softens and strengthens the muscle fibres so that the structure of your face is lifted. It also helps to eliminate puffiness.”

Wear sunscreen – Every single day

The damage UV rays do to your skin, not to mention the risk of skin cancer, can be significant and that’s why wearing sunscreen is so important. But many people only think to apply it when they’re basking in the sun on their holidays. when it should be worn every day rain or shine.
Hollywood beauty Nicole Kidman says wearing high SPF on her fair-skin has been “a life long habit” – and it shows.

Sleep on a silk pillowcase

Beauty sleep is key for good skin but where you lay your pretty little head is too. New York dermatologist Rebecca Kazin swears by silk pillowcases.
Not only do they feel great but they can prevent wrinkles and help hydrate your skin too.
With silk you don’t get the friction you would against the likes of cotton, so you’re reducing the chances of waking up with fine lines.

Green tea for puffiness

Angela Kim of Korean-inspired beauty line Savor Beauty uses anti-inflammatory green tea to give her skincare routine a boost and reduce puffiness and dark circles from around your eyes.
Simply prepared a cup of green tea and brew and refrigerate it overnight. Then take two cotton balls, soak them in it and put them on your eyes for 10 minutes.

Simplify your makeup

Overloading your skin with makeup day in day out is going to take a lot of time and can clog your pores and irritate skin. Beauty editor Alex Light says that simplifying her makeup routine has done wonders for her skin. “I just use a tinted SPF, concealer, bronzer, blusher and mascara,” and that’s it, she says.

Eat seeds and nuts

Skincare also happens from the inside out so you have to watch your diet if you want a good complexion. Celebrity esthetician Joanna Vargas says consuming omega-3 fatty acids is essential. This means plenty of flax seeds and walnuts which will boost the skin’s ability to retain moisture.

Use a supplement

Sienna Miller, Helena Christensen, Cheryl and Abby Clancy are just some of the gorgeous celebrities who have praised Lumity Day and Nighttime Supplements for giving them more energy, better sleep and of course, glowing skin too.

Never sleep in your makeup

It’s tempting, we know, but sleeping in your makeup really does do bad things for your skin. It can clog pores, irritate skin and it makes a real mess of your pillowcase too!
Top New York dermatologist Debra Jaliman has a radiant complexion and tells her clients to always remove all makeup before hitting the hay. “When pores get blocked, skin becomes bumpy and if you’re acne-prone it can lead to breakouts.”

Use a next generation cleanser

Skincare expert Abigail James is a big fan of all-natural next generation cleansers like Lumity’s 4-in-1 cleanser which is a cleanser, makeup remover, exfoliator and a face mask.
Exfoliating is so important to get rid of rough, dry skin which can make your complexion dull. So an all natural product like this is gentle enough for you to use every day.
Abigail says: “The ingredients work together and ensure you get a deep cleanse, gentle exfoliation and moisturiser too.”
She also insists: “Natural ingredients get superior results.”
