Start now! Look and feel fantastic by spring
-Mar 3, Hannah Hargrave , Health -
Spring is only a few weeks away and if you’re ready to break out of your winter cocoon and leap into the upcoming season looking and feeling your best there’s still time.
There’s nothing like the imminent arrival of a new season to put a spring in your wellness step and when it’s one which promises warmer weather and brighter skies, it’s an added bonus.
But if you think springtime is too soon of a goal for you to make a marked difference in the way you look and feel, think again.
Kickstart your new regime now and you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve by the time March 20th rolls around.
Up your exercise
Not much works better to lift your mood and strengthen and tone your body better than a regular exercise regime, and the great news is you can starting reaping the rewards immediately! Adding physical activity to your days – even if it’s just a 20-30 minute workout a few times a week to begin with – can transform how you look and feel.
Exercise releases the happy endorphins which is why you’re buzzing after breaking out a sweat. Give yourself the gift of a gym membership and vow to actually use it. Or if you’d rather workout at home, take up walking or squeeze in some 10-minute HIIT sessions. Your heart, health and happiness will thank you for it.
You don’t have to hit the spa to get beautified. There’s a simple skincare regime you can adopt at home which will give you glowing skin all year round, and you can start seeing results straight away.
Step 1: Cleanse your face with Lumity’s 4-in-1 Cleanse, which acts as a cleanser, makeup remover, gentle exfoliator and even a face mask.
Step 2: With your skin still damp apply Lumity’s Skin Nutrients Facial Oil using A-list facialist Nichola Joss’ DIY facial massage.
You can use this regime morning and night, suits most skin types and works wonders for male and female skin.
Work out your portions
There’s a reason they say abs are made in the kitchen, because how you fuel your body goes a long way to controlling your weight and waistline. Many people who eat a balanced, healthy diet are still eating too much. If you’re eating more calories than you’re burning you’re going to gain weight.
Reduce your portions and see what a difference it makes.
If you’re unsure of what a portion of food looks like, here’s an easy way to work it out.
- One portion of egg, meat, beans, fish or dairy is approximately the size and thickness of your palm.
- One portion of fruit or vegetables is the size of your closed fist.
- One portion of carbohydrate equates to a filled, cupped hand.
A balanced meal for a woman would be one portion of each per meal and for men it’s two.
The way you dress can completely change you inside and out. The right outfit can make you walk taller, look leaner and give you some well deserved confidence. Many shops offer a free session with a stylist – with no obligation to buy – who will help you the guidance you need to look your best. There are also online services to optimise your style too. A new season is great time to revamp your wardrobe and give it a spring clean as well.
Take a supplement
With all that Lumity’s supplements for both men and women have to offer the sooner you start taking them, the sooner you’ll see the results.
It can take a few months to begin seeing and feeling the benefits of the all natural supplements, so the good news is that by the end of spring you could see improved sleep, more energy, healthy hair, skin and nails and so much more.
Expect glowing skin, a sharper mind, more energy and maybe even a little less around the mid section.
Drink more water
Up your water intake and your whole body will benefit. If you’re not already getting your eight, 8oz cups of water a day, it’s time you started and if sugary drinks are your normally go-to beverage, swapping them out for H20 will see you shift pounds and improve your overall health in a big way.
You don’t have to just sip plain old water either. You can jazz it up by drinking herbal tea or infused water and even certain fruits and vegetables have high water content that, if eaten, counts too.
Cut down on salt
If you’re wondering how you can de-bloat fast and reduce puffiness, then reducing your sodium intake is a sure fire way to make it happen. Taking a more mindful approach to your salt levels is a good idea for a healthier you, all round. So if you’re partial to a packet of crisps or your dinner is isn’t complete without a sprinkling of sea salt, try cutting back. You may just find you don’t even miss it.
