The beauty mistakes which could be ageing you

A beauty routine can do wonders for you body, mind and soul but you might want to make sure it’s the right one. There are some beauty mistakes you might be making which could actually be ageing you rather than keeping you looking your best.
You invest time, money and effort into looking fresh and yet you look in the mirror and can’t help but feel that something is off. Well despite your dedication to your beautification there are some very common beauty mistakes you might be making that are adding years to you – and you probably don’t even realise it.
Sleeping in your makeup
If at night you don’t remove all the make-up you put all the effort into applying in the first place then you could be setting yourself up for a nasty breakout of spots or blackheads. After a busy day, it can be easy to flop into bed with a full face of foundation but doing this will play havoc with your skin. All the dirt, grime and toxins from your day will sit on your skin and cause breakouts. It’s not just your concealer which needs to be removed either. Leaving your eye make-up on can cause irritations and crusty mascara can dry out your lashes and make them brittle.
Too hot showers
Something as simple as a too hot shower can leave your skin lack lustre and dry. Although it’s relaxing to pump up the temperature on your daily cleanse it can strip your skin of essential moisture and healthy oils. Dry skin is old skin. So opt for a warm rather than hot shower.
Who knew your eyebrows could age you! Leaving your brows to their own devices isn’t a good idea. They frame your face so it’s important to define them. As you age they naturally become sparser meaning it’s even more important to define them. Before you start penciling a thin arch over your eyes, think again. A thicker brow is actually more youthful, but since they frame your face you’ll need to redefine them. Don’t go overboard but pick a brow pencil that’s slightly lighter than your hair colour and softly fill them in to create the illusion of a thicker eyebrow.
A bad parting
Women spend an age picking the perfect hair colour, but they probably don’t spare much of a thought to their parting. If you’ve had your hair parted in the same place for decades and that place is right down the center of your head then you might want to consider switching it up. A center parting – especially if your hair is long – can drag your features down making you look older. Changing your parting can feel strange but it can actually add volume to your do too.
