They are known for sculpting the bodies of some of the most beautiful people on the planet and are at the peak of fitness themselves. Celebrity trainers can only reach their acclaim by proving that their own methods work. And, as adverts for their regimes, are the perfect people to get some breakfast inspiration from. If you’re feeling a little bloated from festive food, here’s some tips for how you can use some of that leftover turkey for a healthy start to your day, as well as some other power-breakfast ideas.
Clients: Halle Berry, Jessica Alba
Breakfast: For someone whose programme involves 3 cardio segments, 2 circuits of strength training and 1 core segment daily a good breakfast is needed as fuel. Ramona advocates eating properly rather than calorie cutting in order to back up the work you do in the gym. Hers is a retro breakfast your grandparents might have enjoyed – with a healthier twist. “Two eggs, two slices of turkey and a slice of wheat toast with a little jam. I also have a cup of coffee.”
Clients: Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Megan Fox
Breakfast: He’s got a celebrity client list which almost reaches triple digits and is the go-to trainer in Hollywood. So, it’s no surprise he is a fan of the A-list mantra – protein, protein, protein – which makes up his breakfast! “Protein in your morning meal improves appetite control by reducing cravings and preventing overeating later in the day.” But his current favourite is a root vegetable he whizzes into a kind of porridge he says: “Instead of oatmeal, have jicama hot cereal. It’s higher in fibre than oatmeal and has more vitamin C than an orange. Shredded jicama, cinnamon, apple, walnuts, whey and a little water.”
Clients: Heidi Klum and Kate Upton
Breakfast: Supermodels love his diet and fitness plans – possibly because he actually advocates eating, rather than skipping meals. “When people want to lose weight, they stop eating and they shut down their body. Eat!” Taking his own advice, he start his day with a power breakfast: an egg-white omelette with mushrooms, spinach, turkey, and some avocado.
Amy Rosoff Davis
Clients: Selena Gomez
Breakfast: Amy likes to eat with her clients when she’s not putting them through their paces and shares quite the feast with Selena: “Half of a healthy breakfast burrito of scrambled eggs, turkey, avocado, rice, and beans; or, full-fat Greek yogurt and granola.”
Clients: Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Gwyneth Paltrow
Breakfast: Tracy is famed for her ‘method’ which changes up your work out every 10 days to keep muscle groups challenged. And, she likes plenty of variety in her diet too but her go to for getting a blast of nutrients first thing is a green smoothie. “This really is the best way to start my day – my shake has a fantastic amino acid profile and best of all, no soy for protein. I like the vanilla flavour and usually add chocolate syrup. When I want to be a bit healthier, I opt for the kale and banana combo.”
