Ways to wake up your skin in the morning and reduce puffiness ASAP

Just as your mind and body need to wake up in the morning so does your skin. Even if you think you have your AM skincare regime down to a fine art, consider giving it a coffee worthy kickstart with these tips that won’t cost a thing.

Wakey, wakey rise and shine, it’s time to cleanse, tone, moisturise and wake up your skin too. Because even though beauty sleep is a real thing, your skin can face a few additional challenges in the morning.

Lymphatic fluid can pool in areas of your face – especially if you sleep on your side – causing puffiness and your circulation may need a boost too.

So in addition to the products you put on your skin, try adding these effective and free tips to your morning skin to-do list.

Wash your face in the sink

Rather than wash your face in warm water from the shower, wake up with a splash of cool water in the sink. The cold – don’t worry it doesn’t have to be freezing – water will ease puffiness and give your face a fresh first cleanse.

Apply products with cold hands

In a bid to shock your skin and wake it up with a jolt you can run your hands under cold water first and then apply your Lumity’s Skin Nutrients Facial Oil with chilly digits. This will promote circulation and after the initial shudder you’ll likely feel pretty good.

Keep your moisturiser in the fridge

Another cool tip is to keep your creams refrigerated. You’ll get a truly satisfying kick out massaging in cold moisturiser and it’s great for your skin too. Because it restricts the blood vessels, it’ll help de-puff and reduce redness as well.

Put spoons in the freezer

Puffy eyes are the bane of some people’s existence and reducing them can feel like an endless battle. Keep cold metal spoons in the freezer and you’ll have an instant de-puffer at your finger tips. Simply place a spoon on each eye and relax for a few moment to start seeing results. Keep a stash in there for any time you feel your eyes need a bit of a pick me up.

Facial Massage

The way you apply your Lumity’s Skin Nutrients Facial Oil makes a big difference to the appearance of your skin. Take just a couple of minutes to massage it into your skin like A-list facialist Nichola Joss demonstrates. Her simple technique will help boost circulation and remove toxins from the face, reducing puffiness and dark circles too.
